Lay the starter row of metal shingles at the drip edge and affix to the roof with metal roofing nails. For exposed fasteners avoid over tightening the fastener. You will need to order enough metal material to cover the entire roof and this process. Use your neoprene washer head screws to secure the metal to the sheathing.

In this video i m installing some metal roofing over an existing ash fault shingled roof. Space the screws about 12 in 30 cm apart. Remove the old roof. If you want to install steel over asphalt your best choice for installing metal roofing is to use a steel shingle system like the one shown instead of the more common and more expensive standing seam steel.

Work up from the initial row starting at the lower corner in a diagonal pattern staggering the shingles to prevent gaps. Make sure that the screws are all aligned evenly as you will be able to see them from the ground if they are.
