Next hold up one of your mounting brackets at the desired height and mark the bracket s screw holes on the wall making sure that the holes are in line with the studs.

The only caveat is that the top of the figure eight shows above the surface of the shelf so it may be visible if you hang the shelf low. You can use good quality hollow wall anchors for hanging wood shelves if the studs don t line up with the figure eights. This will make it easier when you go to drill in the top halves of the fasteners. Creating a series of rows is usually the easiest way to hang shelves so they fill up your wall.
